After 15 Years, Track Foreman Retires

For Jeffrey “Pops” Sandoval, 2026 marks a new chapter. After 15 years at Watco’s Freeport Industrial Rail Services, he recently retired. Starting as a laborer, Sandoval showed hard work, dedication, reliability, and loyalty that led him to become a track foreman.

According to Director of Texas Operations in Division 5 John Mullins, Sandoval stands out for his upbeat attitude and sense of humor. Over the years, he helped boost morale and made challenging days better for the team.

Mullins shared, “The site always came first for Pops, and that commitment played a major part in our success. We’re grateful for the time, knowledge, and experience he’s shared with us. Congratulations on your well-earned retirement, Pops.”
