Columbus TBT Celebrates Sam Ricci’s Retirement

Last month marked a new chapter for Sam Ricci, who retired. He started his railroad career back in the 80s. Since 2008, he’s been at Watco and most recently was the general manager at Columbus Transload Terminal (TBT) in Ohio.

 
From operations to management, he’s seen it all. Ricci said, “Watco has been great to me, and I hope everyone else can have a lengthy and exciting career like I had. I have gained a lot of friends here, and I hope to keep in touch.”
 
Ricci and his wife have sold their home and plan to move closer to family in Missouri. He’s also looking forward to spending more time at the family cabin in Montana.
 
The Columbus team hosted a lunch retirement party in Ricci’s honor, where they presented him with a cake and an assortment of gifts.
 
Vice President of Operations Clint Woods said, “I’ve known Sam my entire time at Watco, and he’s always been someone you could count on, rain or shine. He’s not only been a great teammate, but also a friend, and I’ll miss working with him every day.”
