Time flies when you’re having fun. It certainly did for Nancy Huser, who retired at the end of June after working nearly 20 years at Watco. She started her career in accounts payable, coordinating Watco’s outgoing payments. From there, she worked on both the treasury and accounts receivable teams.

Director of Treasury Jennifer Muckala said, “Nancy was always wanting to make things better, whether it was a process, system, or something else. She’s everything you want in a teammate – caring, dependable, and a pro at her job.”

For Huser, the culture is what makes Watco stand out. She said: “My teammates became family. This doesn’t happen everywhere, but it does here.” When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, her teammates were there to help her every step of the way. They brought over meals, helped clean her house, and raised money to purchase head scarves so she could wear a different one each day of the week.

They’re still there to cheer her on as she starts a new chapter. Before her official retirement date, they hosted a party in her honor and presented her with a commemorative plaque recognizing her years of service to Watco.

Now, Huser is enjoying traveling more with her husband Mark. On their bucket list are trips to South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. She’s also spending more time with her family, including four kids, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
